Bun Cha is also the traditional food of Vietnam. It originated from our capital, Hanoi. To make this dish perfectly, we have to use many ingredients which I list as down below:
- Meat: Commonly choosing pork, especially minced pork shoulder (however if you want to eat something else, there is no problem if you replace pork with another ingredients). Mixing it with little sauce. Depending on the favorite of each people, you can choose to make ball shape, or simply slice into pieces then grill.
- Herbs: Vietnamese people is fond of eating “Bun Cha” with raw vegetables, or “Rau song” in Vietnamese. It includes many vegatables such as onion, beansprouts, or lettuce.
- Pickled vegetable: do not be confused between raw vegetables with pickled vegetables, because they are two different kinds. The most kind pickled vegetables that Hanoi people are used to eating with is cucumber. However, sometimes onion, or green papaya is chosen to replace.
- Rice vermicelli: the ingredient is used to make Noodles.
- Sauce: Fish sauce is mixed with suger, lemon, a little vinegar crushed garlic and MSG.
“Bun Cha” is a complicated dish about serving. To serve this dish, you need to put everything into different bowls. Commonly, Hanoi people always put meat into one bowl, then pour sauce into it.
